Sonitrol Security Systems of Hartford Inc. acquires assets of Sonitrol of Rhode Island.

Sonitrol Security Systems of Hartford Inc. is pleased to announce that as of June 30, 2003, Sonitrol is acquiring the assets of Sonitrol of Rhode Island.

Sonitrol of Hartford is part of an international franchise network of independent dealers that service over 175 major metropolitan markets in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. The Sonitrol of Rhode Island franchise has operated in Providence for over 28 years serving the needs of customers for alarm system installation, monitoring and service.

Founded in 1971, Sonitrol of Hartford celebrates 31 years of service to business and residential customers. Sonitrol of Hartford operates an Underwriter Laboratories listed central monitoring station and is ranked the 47th largest alarm company in North America.

Sonitrol's unique audio verification capability has resulted in low false alarms, fast police response and the highest documented apprehension rate in the security industry. Since 1977, Sonitrol has assisted local police in the apprehension of more than 140,000 intruders. Sonitrol's integrated security solutions allow business and homeowners a suite of products designed to protect personal belongings and investments. These include integrated access control and digital video for on and off premise event recording.

Sonitrol of Rhode Island will continue operations as a Providence branch. Sonitrol's goal is to provide quality local installation and service from the same familiar technicians that have served Rhode Island through the years. Through this change, Sonitrol of Rhode Island will also have additional technical resources and products to serve Rhode Island customers needs.
